Oil circuit, especially for an internal-combustion engine
Abstract
In a motor vehicle internal combustion engine, a drip pan (6) is arranged between the engine block (1) and the oil pan (2), which catches the lubricating oil flowing back from the engine block (1). The oil reaches a cooled area of the oil pan (2) on the one hand via a laminar flow resistance (7), and on the other hand directly via an overflow (8) to the intake port (4) of the oil pump (3). As a result, the optimal viscosity of the oil is quickly achieved and maintained, despite the weather-dependent cooling of the oil pan.
