Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 38 words
A process for the preparation of p-isononanoyloxybenzenesulphonate, characterized in that isononanoic acid chloride is reacted with potassium p-phenolsulphonate in the presence of a non-reactive diluent at a temperature in the range of from 80 °C to 200 °C.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 38 words
A process for the preparation of p-isononanoyloxybenzenesulphonate, characterized in that isononanoic acid chloride is reacted with potassium p-phenolsulphonate in the presence of a non-reactive diluent at a temperature in the range of from 80 °C to 200 °C.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 19 words
A process according to claim 1, characterized in that part of the potassium p-phenolsulphonate is replaced by sodium p-phenolsulphonate.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 23 words
A process according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that isononanoic acid chloride is used in a molar excess to the sulphonate(s).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 31 words
A process according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the molar amount of potassium p-phenolsulphonate is more than 25% of the total molar amounts of sodium and potassium p-phenolsulphonate.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 33 words
A process according to any one of the claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the molar ratio of isononanoic acid chloride to the sulphonate is in the range of 1.1:1 to 1.5:1.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 32 words
A process according to any one of the claims 1 to 5, characterized in that p-phenolsulphonate is employed in a concentration of less than 1 mol p-phenolsulphonate per litre of non-reactive diluent.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 22 words
A process according to any one of the claims 1 to 6i characterized in that the non-reactive diluent is an aromatic hydrocarbon.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 27 words
A process according to any one of the claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the reaction is carried out at refluxing temperature of the non-reactive diluent.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 22 words
A process according to claim 7, characterized in that the non-reactive diluent is o-, m- or p-xylene or mixtures of these isomers.
