Plate filter
Abstract
Abstract Filter plates (1) in a stack can be pressed against one another with interposition of filter medium (2). In each case one deflection element (5, 6) for the sheet-like filter medium (2) is assigned on both sides of the stack to each filter chamber between every two adjacent filter plates (1). The filter medium (2) runs from a stock roll (11) successively forward and back each time through a plurality of successive filter chambers and then to a winding-up roll (12). When a filter cake of predetermined thickness has collected in the filter chambers, the filter plates (1) are separated from one another, and the filter medium (2) is transported along the path indicated. While the filter medium (2) runs over the deflection elements (5) on one side of the stack, all the filter cakes drop down on the same side of the stack into a receiver vessel (10). After the transport, the length of filter medium which before carried the filter cake in the filter chamber is turned over in the same filter chamber underneath a new length drawn in. After a next transport, the same length is located at the top again in an adjacent filter chamber, having been turned over once more. <IMAGE>
