Abstract

Abstract An elastically deformable fender (A) comprising an impact receiving section (1) having a predetermined thickness (h) and a top surface (1a) being formed flat and forming a contact surface with a broadside, a pair of supporting sections (2) extending from the reverse side of the impact receiving section (1) mentioned above so as to diverge away from each other in an unfolded fan fashion and formed integrally with the impact receiving section (1), and fitting sections (3) expanding outwardly from the ends of the supporting sections (2) in parallel to the contact surface aforementioned. The thickness (h) of the impact receiving section (1) mentioned above is formed thick so as to protrude distinctly from the supporting sections (2) and the width (W) is formed smaller than the span (D) between the heels of the supporting sections (2). Furthermore, between the supporting sections (2) on the reverse side of the impact receiving section (1) a hollow portion (1c) is formed lengthwise for preventing the impact receiving section (1) from curving when the contact load of a ship is applied.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 160 words
An elastically deformable fender (A) comprising an impact receiving section (1) having substantially a flat contact surface (la) with a broadside, and a predetermined thickness (h), a pair of supporting sections (2) extending from both ends of the reverse side of said impact receiving section (1) and diverging in an unfolded fan fashion and formed integrally with said impact receiving section (1), and a fitting section (3) extending outwardly from the ends of said supporting sections (2) in parallel to said contact surface (la), characterized in that the impact receiving section (1) is formed thick so as to protrude from the supporting section (2) by a predetermined length and a width (W) thereof is formed smaller than the span (D) between the heels of the supporting sections (2), furthermore, a hollow portion (lc) for preventing the impact receiving section (1) from curving is formed lengthwise between the supporting sections (2) on the reverse side of the impact receiving section (1).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 160 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 34 words
An elastically deformable fender as claimed in claim 1, wherein a hollow portion (lc) for preventing the curving has a depth less than approximately half of a thickness of an impact receiving section (1).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 27 words
An elastically deformable fender as claimed in claim 1, wherein a hollow for preventing the curving is a groove (lc) formed continuously lengthwise of the fender (A).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 39 words
An elastically deformable fender as claimed in claim 1, wherein a hollow portion (lc) for preventing the curving are the holes having been formed at a fixed interval respectively one by one and formed lengthwise of the fender (A).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 33 words
An elastically deformable fender as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least the inner surface at the lower end area of both supporting sections (2) are bent in a direction approaching each other.
