Abstract

Abstract An automatic chemical analyzing apparatus comprises a cuvette assembly which has a plurality of reaction tubes arranged in sample magazines, each sample magazine being conveyed sequentially in a perpendicular direction to the transverse row of reaction tubes, and in a parallel direction therewith so as to complete a reaction circuit, during which the samples to be analyzed in the magazine are treated and, measured a predetermined number of times by passing through testing means such as photometric means.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 168 words
An automatic chemical anaylzing apparatus characterised in that it comprises: a cuvette assembly comprising two lines of sample magazines (34) arranged one after the other, in which a plurality of reaction tubes (32) are arranged in a row, each magazine (34) being moved sequentially, and independently, around the circuit by being advanced in said lines; a conveying means for advancing said sample magazines; a heating means (36) for heating samples contained in said reaction tubes to the desired temperature for analysis; a sample dispensing means (22) for dispensing a sample to be analyzed to said reaction tubes in said magazines; a reagent dispensing means (24) for adding at least one reagent to said reaction tubes; a testing assembly (38) for analyzing the results of the chemical tests being performed for each sample while said sample magazine is moved in said circuit; and means (26) for cleaning said tubes after the test has been concluded for the samples in said reaction tubes, and drying them for reuse and recycling.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 168 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 40 words
The automatic chemical analyzing apparatus of claim 1 wherein each line of . sample magazines segments into a preparation channel (60a, 62a) and a reaction channel (60b, 62b) the movement of magazines in each channel being independent of each other.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 32 words
The automatic chemical analyzing apparatus of claim 2 wherein in said preparation channel (60a, 62a) the magazines are forwarded slowly, and in said reaction channel (60b, 62b) the magazines are forwarded fast.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 42 words
The automatic chemical analyzing apparatus of claim 2 or 3 wherein said testing assembly (38) is positioned between said two lines of sample magazines to analyze said samples while a magazine is transferred from one of said reaction channels to the other.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 43 words
The automatic chemical analyzing apparatus of claim 4 wherein said magazine in which the sample analysis has been completed is routed from said reaction channel to a preparation channel after the magazine has passed through said testing assembly a predetermined number of times.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 54 words
The automatic chemical analyzing apparatus of any one of claims 2 to 5 wherein said reagent dispensing means (24) adds at least one reagent to the samples in the magazine at a reagent addition station in said preparation channel (60a, 62a) and, further, in said preparation channel, said sampling, cleaning and drying are performed.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 46 words
The automatic chemical analyzing apparatus of any one of claims 2 to 6 wherein said magazine containing samples to be analyzed revolves in said two reaction channels to monitor the results of the chemical tests for a period of time sufficient to analyze for each sample.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 36 words
The automatic chemical analyzing apparatus of any one of the preceding claims further comprising means for light irradiation of the individual samples during transportation around the reaction circuit and measurement of transmitted light by a spectrophotometer.
