Abstract

Abstract A copying machine which develops an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an original image into a toner image, transfers the toner image on the copying paper (P) and fuses the toner image later on the copying paper (P) by means of a heating and fusing device (38), detects types of copying papers (P) to be transferred by the toner image and when the copying paper (P) is large in size, a fixed standstill time is arranged between the scanning and exposing operation of an original and a restoring operation to a home position is made and a fusing operation is prevented without fail when a temperature of the heating and fusing device (38) drops below a fusing temperature.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 120 words
A copying machine which develops an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an original image into a toner image, transfers the toner image on the copying paper (P) and fuses the toner image on the copying paper (P) by a heating and fusing device (38) later, characterized in that there are provided a detecting means (6) for detecting types of the copying papers (P), a setting means for a standstill time for arranging a fixed standstill time between a scanning and exposing of an original and a restoring operation, and a controlling means (CPU) for operating the setting means for the standstill time by the detection signal showing that the copying paper (P) is large in size as an input signal.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 120 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 18 words
A copying machine according to claim 1, which scans and exposes an original by moving an optical section.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 29 words
A copying machine according to claim 1, wherein the detecting means (6) detects types of the copying papers whether if the papers are under the A-4 size or not.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 15 words
A copying machine according to claim 1, wherein the standstill time is set up uniformly.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 55 words
A copying machine according to claim 1, wherein the standstill time is arranged either during the time starting after the finish of the scanning and exposing operation till the starting of the restoring operation or during the time starting after the finish of the restoring operation till the starting of the scanning and exposing operation.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 34 words
A copying machine according to claim 1, wherein the detecting means (6) comprising the magnet mounted at a fixed position of the paper cassette and the lead switches being operated selectively by said magnet.
