Abstract

Abstract A retaining disc for cavity wall insulation, with a central seat within a central lug and clampingly fitting on a wall tie, I said seat being accessible from the outside by means of a transversal slot. The lug is in the form of a ring coaxially surrounding the seat at some distance, inside which two flexible strips aligned with the edges of the slot are present, said strips each being provided with recesses in said strips forming a tie seat.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 177 words
A retaining disc for cavity wall insulation, comprising a substantially disc-shaped plastics plate provided with a central opening forming a seat for a cavity wall tie, and communicating with a slot extending up to the outer rim of the disc through which the wall tie can be moved towards the seat when pressing the disc on a tie, which central opening is surrounded by a lug forming part of the disc and stiffening the latter but being elastically deformable, said lug being interrupted at the slot, characterised in that the lug (5) is in the form of a ring coaxially surrounding the seat at some distance, and in that, substantially aligned with the rims (4) bordering the slot (3), two flexible strips (7) each extend mutually parallel from a respective extremity of the interrupted lug (5) towards an opposite point thereof, which strips (7) are integral with this lug (5), said strips (7) each being provided with at least one recess (8), the recesses (8) of a pair opposing one another and forming together a tie seat.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 177 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 30 words
The retaining disc of claim 1, characterised in that two or more pairs of recesses (8, 8', 8") are provided which are each adapted to a group of tie thicknesses.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 30 words
The retaining disc of claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the central opening (6) between the lug (5) and the strips (7) is closed by a plastics foil (9).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 27 words
The retaining disc of any one of claims 1..3, characterised in that the lug (5) is in the form of a hollow bulge of the disc (1).
