Abstract

Abstract An optical disc control apparatus which makes it possible to record and play back the data of a sector of a missing sector signal, where the sector signal is omitted due to a defect in an optical disk or the like. A timer 9 monitors the interval between the sector signals and detects the omission and starts a one-shot crcuit 10. The one-shot circuit supplies a control circuit 8 with a simulation signal similar to the sector signal through a combining circuit 11, so as to enable the control circuit to operate.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 82 words
An optical disk control apparatus comprising a control circuit (8) which performs control operations upon receiving sector signals recorded at heads of respective sectors of an optical disk and which indicates the starts of the individual sectors, characterised in that the control apparatus (2) includes a timer (9) which monitors the time interval between the sector signals, and a one-shot circuit (10) which generates a simulation sector signal when said timer has detected an excessive time interval indicating a missing sector signal.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 82 words
An optical disk control apparatus comprising a control circuit (8) which performs control operations upon receiving sector signals recorded at heads of respective sectors of an optical disk and which indicates the starts of the individual sectors, characterised in that the control apparatus (2) includes a timer (9) which monitors the time interval between the sector signals, and a one-shot circuit (10) which generates a simulation sector signal when said timer has detected an excessive time interval indicating a missing sector signal.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 62 words
An optical disk control apparatus as claimed in claim 1 characterised by including a combining circuit 11 which normally receives the sector signal from the optical disk and sends it to said control circuit (8) and which, upon the generation of the simulation sector signal by said one-shot circuit (10), receives the simulation sector signal and sends it to said control circuit.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 29 words
An optical disk control apparatus as defined in claim 1 or 2 characterised in that said timer monitors the time interval with respect to the directly preceding sector signal.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 34 words
An optical disk control apparatus as defined in claim 1 or 2 characterised in that said timer monitors the time interval with respect to a sector signal which precedes the directly preceding sector signal.
