Abstract

The invention relates to an instrument for keeping the upper respiratory tract clear and for performing intubations, in which a tube to be inserted can be moved with its distal end into the trachea via a channel serving as a guide. The channel is designed as a groove running in the instrument shaft, while the distal end of the instrument consists of a head in front of which the groove ends and which has to be brought into contact with the larynx when the instrument is inserted. The instrument head will thus limit the longest possible insertion distance as a stop.
