Abstract

Abstract The process for realizing cable joints - of the type comprising a monolithic sleeve (10), and the device for carrying-out the process, foresee the mounting of the monolithic-sleeve of the joint, in an elastically expanded condition, onto a rigid tubular-body (1). The rigid tubular-body (1) and monolithic-sleeve (10) assembly, are fitted onto one of the two cables (12, 13) to be jointed. Once the effecting of the mechanical and electrical connection of the conductors (14) of the two cables (12,13) is carried-out, the assembly - of the rigid tubular-body (1) and monolithic-sleeve (10), is centered in the junction-zone and, successively to this, the tubular-body (1) is slipped-off from the sleeve (10), which contracts elastically over the already joined-together extremities of the cable - with thus originating the joint.

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 124 words
Process for realizing cable-joints, of the type comprising a preformed monolithic-sleeve (10) fitted over the extremities of joined-together cables (12, 13), characterized by the fact of comprising the phases of: - elastically expanding the monolithic-sleeve (10) with increasing the diametrical dimensions of its inner cavity; - positioning the monolithic-sleeve (10), in an expanded condition, on the junction zone of the two cables (12, 13); - causing, through a recovery of the elastic deformation of the monolithic-sleeve (10) - by starting from one extremity of the latter and proceeding progressively along the entire sleeve length to the other extremity, a uniform radial contraction of the sleeve itself, that gradually places the latter in contact with the extremities that are joined-together, of the cables (12, 13).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 124 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 98 words
Device for realizing cable-joints, of the type compris - ing a preformed monolithic-sleeve (10) fitted onto the joined-together extremities of the cables (12, 13), characterized by the fact of comprising: - a rigid tubular-body (1) whose inner cavity has a greater diameter than that of the outer surface of the cables (12, 13) to be connected by a joint, provided with an ogive (2'), removably connected to one extremity (2) of said rigid tubular-body (1); - means (4,5,6,7,8,9), for slipping the rigid tubular-body (1) off the monolithic-sleeve (10), that is previously centered with respect to the zone where
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 98 words
Device for realizing cable-joints, of the type compris - ing a preformed monolithic-sleeve (10) fitted onto the joined-together extremities of the cables (12, 13), characterized by the fact of comprising: - a rigid tubular-body (1) whose inner cavity has a greater diameter than that of the outer surface of the cables (12, 13) to be connected by a joint, provided with an ogive (2'), removably connected to one extremity (2) of said rigid tubular-body (1); - means (4,5,6,7,8,9), for slipping the rigid tubular-body (1) off the monolithic-sleeve (10), that is previously centered with respect to the zone where
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 35 words
Device, according to CLAIM 2, characterized by the fact that the friction coefficient of the outer surface of the rigid tubular-body (1), in respect of the material of the monolithic-sleeve (10), is not over 0.2.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 91 words
Device, according to CLAIM 2, characterized by the fact that the means (4,5,6,7,8,9) for slipping-off the rigid tubular-body (1) from the inner cavity of the monolithic-sleeve (10), comprise: - a relief (4, 5), cantilevered from the outer surface of the rigid tubular- body's extremity (3) that is opposite the one (2), with which the ogive (2') is removably connected; - at least one removable rigid annular-body (7), engageable with the monolithic-sleeve (10); - means (6,8,9) that exercise a force system, for drawing said relief (4,5) away from said rigid annular-body (7).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 112 words
Device, according to CLAIM 4, characterized by the fact that the means (6, 8, 9), which exercise a force system for drawing away the relief (4, 5) - that is cantilevered from the outer surface of one extremity (3) of the rigid tubular-body (1), from the rigid annular-body (7) that is removably engageable with the monolithic-sleeve (10), comprise threaded-rods (8) passing into through-holes (6) made both, in the said relief (4, 5), as well as in said rigid annular-body (7), and aligned one with the other, and having threaded-bushes (9) connected to said holes (6), with means being foreseen for effecting a relative rotation between said threaded-rods (8) and said threaded-bushes (9).
