Optical wavelength multiplexer-demultiplexer using optical fibres
Abstract
The invention relates to an optical wavelength multiplexer-demultiplexer using optical fibers. For a bidirectional link with three channels, two of which go and one return, the multiplexer-demultiplexer comprises a beveled connecting fiber (30), provided with an interference filter (25) and optically coupled to three intermediate fibers (13, 14, 15). A first intermediate fiber (13) is bevelled and provided with an interference filter (20) and has an optical axis intersecting that of the connecting fiber at a given angle (ϑ), while a second intermediate fiber (14) is cut to this bevelled fiber, the filter (20) ensuring the multiplexing-demultiplexing of the two outgoing channels. A third intermediate fiber (15) is attached to the cylindrical wall of the connecting fiber to receive or transmit, by means of the filter (25), the return channel. Application to fiber optic telecommunications systems.
