Abstract

A parallelepiped isolating material block (11) is provided with recesses (18) for receiving electrical plugs or sockets. The recesses (18) extend from a front end surface (12) to a rear end surface (13) of the insulating material block. Each side surface (14, 15, 16, 17) of the insulating material block (11) is provided with at most two elastically flexible holding fingers (22, 23), each of which is angled into a position approximately parallel to this side surface. The holding fingers (22) arranged on two opposite side surfaces (14, 16) of the insulating material block (11) only extend in the direction from the front end surface (12) towards the rear end surface (13). The holding fingers (23) arranged on the two other side surfaces (15, 17) run in reverse. All holding fingers (22, 23) each have an inclined surface (24, 26) rising from the free end and a falling step (25, 27). The connector housing (10) can optionally be inserted with the front end surface (12) or the rear end surface (13) ahead into a rectangular opening (20) of a plate (21), so that the holding fingers (22, 23) with their hold the connector housing (10) in the plate opening (20) at the edges (25, 27) of the plate opening (20). Since all four side surfaces (14 to 17) of the insulating material block (11) are provided with retaining fingers (22, 23), an increased stability of the connector housing (10) used is achieved.
