Abstract

Abstract @ A looped data transmission system comprises looped transmission lines (36, 37) of two systems having different transmission directions, and a plurality of stations (31...35) and at least one station (30) connected to said transmission lines (36, 37) of two systems. If fault occurs in the transmission lines (36, 37) of the two systems over the same section. a loopback configuration is established such that stations (31, 35) adjacent to the faulty section send the signals from one system back to the other system. With the loopback configuration being established, the stations (32...34) which have received supervisory signals sent from a loopback end station (31, 35) send them back to the transmission line of the other system. When one of the loopback end stations (31,35) has received the supervisory signal, it is so judged that a portion of the faulty section is recovered, and the result of judgement is informed to the control station (30).

Claim 1
Independent Claim 189 words
A method of detecting the recovery of fault in a looped data transmission system comprising looped transmission lines (36, 37) of two systems having different transmission directions, and a plurality of stations (31...35) and at least one control station (30) connected to said transmission lines (36, 37) of the two systems, wherein if fault occurs in the transmission lines (36, 37) of the two systems section, a loopback configuration is established such that stations (31, 35) adjacent to the faulty section send the signals from one system back to the other system, wherein the stations (31, 35) adjacent to the faulty section send supervisory signals (38) to each other via the faulty section and supervise the supervisory signals sent from the other station (35, 31) via the faulty section relative to each other, stations (32...34) included in the faulty section send the supervisory signals that are received from one system back to the other system, and when at least either one of the stations (31, 35) adjacent to the faulty section receives the supervisory signal, it is so judged that whole or portion of the faulty section is recovered.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 37 words
The method of claim 1, wherein a station (35) which judges that whole or portion of the faulty section is recovered, informs the result of judgement to the control station (30) via the transmission lines (40, 41).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 58 words
The method of claim 1, wherein the control station (30) sends a search command signal to the stations (31, 35) adjacent to the faulty section maintaining a predetermined period to inquire whether the faulty section is recovered or not, and the stations that have received said signal send a recovery answer in response to the search command signal.
