Abstract Translated from German Die Erfindung betrifft Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I <IMAGE> in der R¹ und R² unabhängig voneinander C6- bis C24-Alkyl oder gegebenenfalls durch Alkyl oder Cycloalkyl substituiertes Benzyl, einer der Reste auch Wasserstoff sind und die Ringe A, B, C und D noch durch Chlor, Methyl oder Methoxy substituiert sein können, wobei die Verbindung der Formel <IMAGE> ausgenommen ist. Die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen eignen sich als Farbstoffe in elektro-optischen Flüssigkristallanzeigen oder zur Herstellung von Polarisationsfolien.
