Abstract

The invention relates to a non-radioactive probe for the detection by hybridization of a determined sequence of nucleotides and comprising as essential constituent a nucleic acid itself containing an insert comprising a sequence complementary to said determined sequence of nucleotides. This probe is characterized in that at least part of at least one of the nucleotides constituting its nucleic acid is replaced by modified bases recognizable by the polymerases and comprising a group comprising at most two carbon atoms and, preferably at least one halogen group.
