Optical apparatus for generating a stereoscopic visual image
Abstract
A pair of roof mirrors (4, 4 ') is arranged in the beam path of a main objective (2), with the aid of which the pupils are divided. The two beams with the optical axes (3, 3 ') reach a mirror device (6) where the two beams are directed onto an intermediate image plane (11) with the aid of pivotable mirrors (7, 7'). The two optical axes (3, 3 ') intersect in the intermediate image plane. A field lens (12) is arranged in the area of the intermediate image plane (11) and feeds the beam of rays to the eyes via a radiation exit lens (13). With this device, a stereoscopic image with great depth of field is achieved. The exit pupils (14) are larger than those of the eyes, so that the viewer has a certain freedom of movement.
