Abstract

The present invention relates to superconductive strands made up of superconductive filaments based on ternary molybdenum chalcogenide (Pb Mo 6 S 8 ) assembled within a stabilizing matrix based on copper. It relates to a process for manufacturing superconductive filaments consisting in mixing a powder of ternary molybdenum chalcogenide with a metallic powder of smaller particle size chosen from the components of the chalcogenide considered or from the group of metals constituted by aluminum, silver , gallium, rhenium, titanium, to coat the powder mixture obtained using a metal wall formed from a group of metals formed by molybdenum, niobium, tantalum, titanium and vanadium and subjecting the superconductive strand obtained after drawing and drawing by conventional wire drawing techniques to a final heat treatment consisting of baking at a temperature of the order of 800 ° C for several tens of hours.
