Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 19
Claim 1
Independent Claim 14 words
An intraocular lens implant characterised in that it is formed entirely of a hydrogel.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 14 words
An intraocular lens implant characterised in that it is formed entirely of a hydrogel.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
An intraocular lens implant according to claim 1, characterised in that the hydrogel is hydroxyethyl methacrylate.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 18 words
An intraocular lens implant according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that it is of integral construction.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 46 words
An intraocular lens implant according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it comprises a relatively thick optical portion having relatively thin resilient flange means extending away from it, said flange means being arranged to retain the implant in place in the eye.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 23 words
An intraocular lens implant according to claim 4, characterised in that the optical portion is flanked by a pair of laterally extending flanges.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 30 words
An intraocular lens implant according to claim 5, characterised in that the flanges taper away from the optical portion so that outer ends thereof are narrower than the optical portion.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 41 words
An intraocular lens implant according to claim 4, 5 or 6, which is intended for insertion in the posterior chamber of an eye, characterised in that the flange means project forwardly to dispose the implant away from the eye in use.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 24 words
An intraocular lens implant according to claim 7, characterised in that the flanges have a curvature in the range from plano to 10mm radius.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 32 words
An intraocular lens implant according to claim 7 or 8, characterised in that the optical portion has an anterior face which is the optical face which determines the power of the lens.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 25 words
An intraocular lens implant according to any one of claims 4 to 9, characterised in that the optical portion is of asymmetrical bi convex construction.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 27 words
An intraocular lens implant according to any one of claims 4 to 10, characterised in that the optical portion has a diameter of from 3 to 10mm.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 22 words
An intraocular lens implant according to claim 11, characterised in that the optical portion has a diameter of from 4 to 7mm.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 34 words
An intraocular lens implant according to any one of claims 4 to 12, characterised in that it has a length of from 8 to 15mm in a horizontal direction across the eye, in use.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 32 words
An intraocular lens implant according to any one of claims 4 to 13, characterised in that the optical portion has a non-variable optical surface having a curvature from plano to 10mm radius.
Claim 16
Dependent Claim 27 words
An intraocular lens implant according to claim 14, characterised in that the optical portion has a non-variable optical surface having a curvature from 15 to 30mm radius.
Claim 17
Dependent Claim 22 words
16 . An intraocular lens implant according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it is in hydrated form.
Claim 18
Dependent Claim 27 words
An intraocular lens implant according to claim 16, characterised in that it is contained in a sealed vial containing a quantity of a physiologically acceptable electrolyte solution.
Claim 19
Dependent Claim 20 words
An intraocular lens implant according to claim 17, characterised in that the sealed vial is contained in a sealed overpouch.
