Abstract

Abstract In a radio communication apparatus comprising a P-ROM (32), a loudspeaker (34), and/or a display unit (36) and carrying out a receiving operation of selectively receiving a call signal specific to the apparatus by the use of an identification number read out of the P-ROM, a predetermined signal to be produced after the call signal is defined to inhibit or disable the receiving operation carried out after reception of the predetermined signal. The loudspeaker may be driven under control of a reception controller (31) to continuously produce an audible signal when the predetermined signal is received. The display unit may also be driven to provide visual displays representative of particular messages conveyed by the predetermined signal. The particular messages may be "lost" and "theft" codes and a telephone number.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim 74 words
A radio communication apparatus which includes receiving means for carrying out a receiving operation of selectively receiving a call signal specific to said apparatus and of receiving an additional signal succeeding said call signal, wherein the improvement comprises inhibiting means coupled to said receiving means and responsive to a predetermined signal next succeeding said call signal in said additional signal for inhibiting the receiving operation for the call signal which follows said predetermined signal.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 74 words
A radio communication apparatus which includes receiving means for carrying out a receiving operation of selectively receiving a call signal specific to said apparatus and of receiving an additional signal succeeding said call signal, wherein the improvement comprises inhibiting means coupled to said receiving means and responsive to a predetermined signal next succeeding said call signal in said additional signal for inhibiting the receiving operation for the call signal which follows said predetermined signal.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 69 words
A radio communication apparatus as claimed in Claim 1, said receiving means being responsive to said additional signal to produce a drive signal, said apparatus further comprising audible signal producing means responsive to said drive signal for producing an audible signal, wherein said inhibiting means is coupled to control means for controlling said audible signal producing means to continuously produce said audible signal in response to said predetermined signal.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 72 words
A radio communication apparatus as claimed in Claim 1, said receiving means being responsive to said additional signal to produce a drive signal, said apparatus further comprising display means responsive to said drive signal for displaying a visual display, wherein said inhibiting means is coupled to display control means for controlling said display means to (Claim 3 continued) make said visual display indicate a predetermined message in response to said predetermined signal.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 91 words
A radio communication apparatus as claimed in Claim 3, said predetermined signal comprising a first and a second signal, wherein said display control means comprises first means for controlling said display means to make said visual display indicate said predetermined message in response to said first signal and second means for controlling said display means to make said visual display indicate an additional message in response to said second signal, said inhibiting means being for inhibiting said receiving operation in response to a combination of said first and said second signals.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 89 words
A radio communication apparatus as claimed in anyone of Claim 1 to 4, further comprising memory means for memorizing a number signal representative of an identification number specific to said apparatus, said receiving means comprising first means for selectively receiving said call signal with reference to said number signal to produce an enable signal and second means responsive to said enable signal for receiving said additional signal, wherein said inhibiting means inhibits said receiving operation by disabling said memory means for the call signal which follows said predetermined signal.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 23 words
A radio communication apparatus as claimed in Claim 5, wherein said inhibiting means inhibits said memory means until said memory means is exchanged.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 33 words
A radio communication apparatus as claimed in Claim 5 or 6, wherein display means is operatively coupled to said memory means for displaying that said memory means is disabled by said inhibiting means.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 43 words
A radio communication apparatus as claimed in anyone of Claim 5 to 7, wherein audible signal producing means is operatively coupled to said memory means for producing an audible signal which audibly informs that said memory means is disabled by said inhibiting means.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 112 words
A radio communication apparatus which includes receiving means for carrying out a receiving operation of selectively receiving a call signal specific to said apparatus to produce a drive signal in response to said call signal, and audible signal producing means responsive to said drive signal for producing an audible signal, wherein the improvement comprises inhibiting means coupled to said receiving means and responsive to a predetermined signal next succeeding said call signal for inhibiting the receiving operation for the call signal which follows said predetermined signal; said inhibiting means being coupled to means for making said audible signal producing means continue production of said audible signal in response to said predetermined signal.
Claim 11
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 101 words
In a radio communication apparatus which has an identification number assigned to said apparatus and comprises storage means for storing a number signal representative of said identification number and operation (Claim 10 continued) means responsive to a call signal and coupled to said storage means for carrying out a communication operation with reference to said call signal and said number signal, the improvement wherein said operation means comprises: means responsive to a predetermined signal succeeding said call signal for producing a disable signal; and means responsive to said disable signal for making said number signal unavailable by disabling said storage means.
