Abstract 1. A vehicle seat, in particular for two-door vehicles, whose backrest (22) is pivotally connected with its seat element (20) movable longitudinally on a rail arrangement, and is tiltable forwardly, wherein the rail arrangement is provided with a locking device (38) releasable for longitudinal adjustment of the seat element and an arresting device (37) releasable by actuation of the backrest and permitting shifting of the seat element (20) synchronous with the tilting of the backrest (22), wherein tge locking device (38) and the arresting device (37) are in suspendable interaction, characterized in that the arresting device (37) can be retained in its release position by a positioning member (65) permitting the retrieval of the adjusted longitudinal seat position during shifting movement of the seat element (20).
