Abstract

Abstract A seamless endless belt for battery pasting machines, particularly lead batteries, comprising an outer endless woven fabric (11), consisting of 1 to 3 plies, and an inner backing layer formed by multi-strata of non-woven webs (12), consisting of synthetic staple fibres, and of light woven meshes (13). The outer fabric (11), the non-woven webs (12) and the light woven meshes are bound together by needling.

Claim 1
Independent Claim 62 words
A seamless endless belt for battery pasting machines comprising two layers: a) an outer layer formed by 1 to 3 plies of an endless woven fabrics, and b) an inner backing layer formed by multi-strata of non-woven webs made of synthetic staple fibres and light woven meshes, the outer layer and the multi-strata of the inner layer being bound together by needling.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 62 words
A seamless endless belt for battery pasting machines comprising two layers: a) an outer layer formed by 1 to 3 plies of an endless woven fabrics, and b) an inner backing layer formed by multi-strata of non-woven webs made of synthetic staple fibres and light woven meshes, the outer layer and the multi-strata of the inner layer being bound together by needling.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 17 words
A seamless endless belt according to claim 1, wherein the outer layer is made of cotton threads.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 23 words
A seamless endless belt according to claim 1, wherein the outer layer is made of synthetic carded threads of polyester or polyamide fibres.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 30 words
A seamless endless belt according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the non-woven webs are made of synthetic staple fibres and the light meshes of high tenacity polyester multifilaments.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 21 words
A seamless endless belt according to any of the preceding claims wherein the edges are melted and/or reinforced with hardening resins.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 82 words
A method for manufacturing a seamless endless belt for battery pasting machines according to claim 1, comprising the steps of: -a) weaving an outer endless fabric consisting of 1 to 3 plies; -u) forming an inner layer by winding non-woven webs of .synthetic staple fibres with light synthetic meshes; -c) applying the inner layer b) on the endless woven fabric a), and d) binding the outer endless fabric a) together with the inner layer b) by fibres linking through a needling operation.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 28 words
A method according to claim 6, wherein the seamless endless belt is cut in ring-shaped belts each having a width corresponding to the width of the pasting machines.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 24 words
A method according to claim 6, wherein the semaless endless belts are heat-set under tension, and at a temperature comprised between 150° and 200°C.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 23 words
A method according to claim 6 or 8, wherein the seamless endless belts are treated with epoxy, acrylic resins or surface active agents.
Claim 11
Independent Claim 33 words
A method according to any of preceding claims 6 to 9 , wherein the edges of the seamless endless belts are reinforced by melting the synthetic fibres or by impregnation with hardening resins.
