Abstract In the case of a contact pin for electronic components, especially printed circuit boards, which can be inserted into an opening in the printed circuit board with a push fit, the seating section of the pin in the printed circuit board abutting with at least two outer sections on the edge of the printed circuit board opening, the contact pin is provided in the seating section (1) with a central compression zone (S), which in essence extends over the length of the seating section (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
