Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 58 words
A process for preparing alkyl glycosides having from 1 to 30 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain, characterized by the step of reacting, in the presence of an acid catalyst, a monohydric alcohol containing from 1 to 30 carbon atoms with a source of monosaccharide moiety, wherein as catalyst is used the acid form of an anionic surfactant.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 58 words
A process for preparing alkyl glycosides having from 1 to 30 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain, characterized by the step of reacting, in the presence of an acid catalyst, a monohydric alcohol containing from 1 to 30 carbon atoms with a source of monosaccharide moiety, wherein as catalyst is used the acid form of an anionic surfactant.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
A process according to Claim 1 wherein the alcohol contains from 8 to 30 carbon atoms.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 48 words
A process according to Claim 1 or 2 wherein the acid form anionic surfactant catalyst is an organic sulfuric reaction product having in its molecular structure an alkyl moiety containing from 8 to 22 carbon atoms and an acid moiety selected from sulfonic acid and sulfuric acid ester.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 19 words
A process according to any of Claims 1 to 3 wherein the source of monosaccharide moiety is a manosaccharide.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 81 words
A process according to any of Claims 1 to 4 wherein the acid form anionic surfactant catalyst is selected from: (a) alkyl sulfates of the formula wherein R is an alkyl group of from 8 to 22 carbon atoms, and n is from 0 to 6, (b) alkylbenzene sulfonates of the formula wherein R is alkyl of from 8 to 15 carbon atans, and (c) alkyl sulfonates of the formula wherein R is alkyl of from 8 to 22 carbon atoms.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 18 words
A process according to any of Claims 1 to 5 wherein the source of monosaccharide moiety is glucose.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 36 words
A process according to any of Claims 1 to 6 wherein the acid form anionic surfactant catalyst is an alkylbenzene sulfonate of the formula: wherein R is an alkyl of from 12 to 14 carbon atoms.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 20 words
A process according to any of Claims 1 to 7 wherein the alcohol contains from 12 to 18 carbon atoms.
