Abstract

Apparatus for obtaining a dental radiological image on a monitor of a viewing chain and comprising: - an extraoral source (1) of X-rays, - an intra-oral sensor (3) of X-rays having passed through the irradiated tooth (2) and arranged coaxially with the beam of X-rays emerging from the latter, - And an extra-oral electronic processing unit connected to the sensor (3), said sensor being formed by the association of a charge transfer device (4) and a screen (5) which, interposed between said device and the irradiated tooth (2) is provided at the input with a scintillator (6) transforming the X-rays having passed through the tooth (2) into visible rays, said screen (5) being made of a thickness of translucent material permeable to visible rays and filled with particles intended to oppose the passage of X-rays passing through the scintillator (6) and not transformed by the latter into visible rays. This device is remarkable in that: - on the one hand, the dimensions of the diameters of the elementary parts facing the different constituents of the optical chain organized in the direction of the transmission of the dental image - scintillator (6), screen (5), charge transfer device (4) - have a progressive growth in order to optimize the resolving power of the elementary points of light of the charge transfer device (4) by reducing the moiré effects, - on the other hand, the above-mentioned screen (5) is formed by reducing optical fibers filled with particles of metal oxides intended to absorb the energy of X-rays not transformed by the scintillator (6), - And finally, that the above intraoral sensor (3) includes microelectronics (8) for controlling the charge transfer device and amplifying the output signal of the latter.
