Abstract

Abstract An automatic cassette loading apparatus in which a tape cassette containing a magnetic tape is held and transported forwardly and returned between a cassette insertion position and a cassette loaded position. The number of switches is reduced by use of a rotary cam and a drive arm on the one hand, and a drive motor and the switches are combined on the same print circuit board on the other hand.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 113 words
An automatic cassette loading apparatus in which a cassette holder (5) for holding and transporting a tape cassette (3) is transported in forward and return directions between a cassette delivery position and a rightly-loaded cassette position, said apparatus comprising a loading motor (M), power transmission means (51 to 55) for transmitting the driving power of said loading motor (M) to deive said cassette holder (5), cam means (51) combined with said power transmission means and adapted to displace with the transportation of said cassette holder, drive arm means (31) driven by said cam in engaging contact with said cam means, and switch means (100) turned on and off by said drive arm means.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 113 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 18 words
An apparatus according to Claim 1, wherein said power transmission means (51 to 55) are a gear train.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 15 words
An apparatus according to Claim 1, wherein said cam means (51) is a rotary cam.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 29 words
An apparatus according to Claim 1, wherein said drive arm means (71, 72) and said switch means (100) are a pair of drive arms and an on-off switch respectively.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 183 words
An automatic cassette loading apparatus wherein a cassette holder (5) for holding and transporting a tape cassette (3) is driven in forward and return directions between a cassette insertion position and a rightly-loaded cassette position, comprising a loading motor (M), power transmission means (51 to 55) for transmitting the drive power of said loading motor (M) to said cassette holder (5), a cam section (51) formed in the gear train of said power transmission means, first and second arm members (71, 72) displaced and driven by said cam section (51) according to the position of said cassette holder (5), a pair of switches (M) turned on and off by said first and second arm members to control said loading motor, and an arm protrusion (31a) formed on said drive arm (31) of said cassette holder (5), said switches being placed in proximity to said loading motor on a print circuit board (103) mounted on said loading motor (M), said arm protrusion (31a) being engaged with selected one of said first and second arm members when said cassette is located in a rightly-loaded position.
