Abstract

Abstract Translated from German Die Erfindung betrifft Partikel sowie ein Verfahren zum simultanen Nachweis von mehreren Antigenen oder Antikörpern in einer Flüssigkeit unter Verwendung dieser Partikel. Das Partikelgemisch enthält Populationen von Partikeln, die voneinander auf folgende Weise unterscheidbar sind: The invention relates to particles and a method for the simultaneous detection of several antigens or antibodies in a liquid using these particles. The particle mixture contains populations of particles that can be distinguished from one another in the following ways: Jede Population weist eine für sie spezifische Kombination folgender Merkmale auf: 1) Fluoreszenzstoffe unterschiedlichen Emissionsspektrums, 2) Quantität dieser Fluoreszenzstoffe, 3) Partikelgrösse. Each population has a specific combination of the following characteristics: 1) fluorescent substances with different emission spectrum, 2) quantity of these fluorescent substances, 3) particle size. Each particle population is also loaded with a different type of antibody or antigen. Using this particle mixture, the simultaneous examination for several types of antigen or antibody can be carried out in a time and effort-saving manner. The particle mixture is mixed with the liquid containing the antibodies or antigens to be detected. The subsequent reaction steps correspond to the steps of a conventional immunofluorescence method. Finally, each particle is measured for its fluorescence (emission spectrum and intensity) and size using a measuring device (e.g. flow cytometer). Based on the measurement data, a computer identifies the particle and assigns the measured immunofluorescence to a defined specificity.
