Abstract

Abstract A tape loading apparatus in which a tape (5) is extracted from a tape cassette and wound around a rotary head drum (1) by a pair of tape guide blocks (2,3). The tape guide blocks (2,3) are moved along a pair of guide rails (12,13) arranged around both sides of the rotary head drum (1) by being driven through a pair of ring gears (18, 19). At least one of guide rails (18,19) is inclined with respectto a plane perpendiculartothe axis of the rotary head drum (1) in orderthatthe pairoftape guide blocks (2, 3) have a level difference at the tape-loaded positions thereof. A parallel movement mechanism is provided for parallely moving at least one of ring gears (18,19) along the axis of the rotary head drum (1) so that the level relationsfips between the tape guide blocks (2, 3) and the ring gears (18, 19) are substantially kept constant while the pair of ring gears (18,19) rotate in the opposite directions to each other.

Claim 2
Dependent Claim 286 words
A tape loading apparatus for extracting a tape from a tape cassette and winding the tape around a rotary head drum comprising: a pair of tape guide blocks (2,3) for extracting said tape from said tape cassette and winding said tape around said rotary head drum (1); a pair of guide rails (12,13) for guiding said pair of tape guide blocks (2, 3) along both sides of said rotary head drum (1), at least one of said guide rails (12, 13) being inclined with respect to a plane perpendicular to the axis of said rotary head drum (1) in order that said pair of tape guide blocks (2, 3) have a level difference at the tape-loaded positions thereof with respect to the axial direction of said rotary head drum (1); a pair of upper and lower ring gears (18, 19) rotatably arranged around said rotary head drum (1) for moving said pair of tape guide blocks (2, 3) along said pair of guide rails (12, 13) with the rotations of said ring gears (18 , 19); a pair of connecting means for connecting said pair of tape guide blocks (2, 3) to said pair of ring gears (18, 19); a drive means (21 - 25) for rotating said pair of ring gears (18, 19) in the opposite directions to each other; and a parallel movement mechanism (48) for parallely moving at least one of said ring gears (18, 19) along the axis of said rotary head drum (1) so that the level relationships between said tape guide blocks (2, 3) and said ring gears (18, 19) are substantially kept constant while said pair of ring gears (18, 19) rotate in the opposite directions to each other.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 148 words
A tape loading apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said parallel movement mechanism (48) comprises: at least a helical groove (42, 43, 44) formed on the circumferential surface of the stationary part (41) of said rotary head drum (1), the inclination of said helical groove corresponding to that of said one of guide rails (12, 13); and at least a projection (45, 46, 47) formed on the inner surface of at least said one of ring gears (18, 19), said projection (45, 46, 47) slidably engaging with said helical groove (42, 43, 44) so that said one of ring gears (18, 19) is parallelly moved along the axis of said rotary head drum (1) as maintaining the constant level relationship with the corresponding one of said tape guide blocks (2, 3) while said pair of ring gears (18, 19) are rotated by said drive means (21 - 26).
Claim 4
