Abstract Translated from German Schutzumhüllung für Schmelz- oder Klebespleißverbindungen von Lichtwellenleitern, bestehend aus einem die Spleißverbindung (2) umhüllenden Schmelzkleberschlauch (4) und einem diesen umgebenden Schrumpfschlauch (5) sowie einem zwischen Schmelzkleberschlauch und Schrumpfschlauch angeordneten, länglichen Stützprofil (6). Um die Spleißstelle zu schonen, ist das Stützprofil (6) im Querschnitt wannenförmig ausgebildet. Protective covering for fusion or adhesive splice connections of optical fibers, consisting of a fusion adhesive tube (4) enveloping the splice connection (2) and a shrink tube (5) surrounding it, as well as an elongated support profile (6) arranged between the melt adhesive tube and the shrink tube. In order to protect the splice point, the support profile (6) is trough-shaped in cross section.
