Abstract

An enteral contrast medium for proton nuclear spin tomography is described, comprising at least one physiologically compatible paramagnetic compound in combination with a physiologically compatible osmotically active substance and also physiologically compatible base / buffer or buffer mixture with a pH of 3 to 8 and optionally also a viscosity-increasing substance, dissolved or suspended in water. It is ideal for enhancing the contrast of MRI images of the gastrointestinal tract.
