Abstract

The electrode arrangement for the electrochemical analysis of electrolytic components of a liquid, in particular blood or urine, has a base body 7 made of insulating material and a sample chamber 11 in the base body 7, which is accessible from the outside via a loading opening, for receiving the liquid to be analyzed. At least one measuring electrode 21, which is selective for a predetermined ion type of the liquid to be analyzed, and a reference electrode 19 are held on the base body. The electrode arrangement is designed as a disposable part, the loading opening being closed by the manufacturer with a removable closure part 45, which forms a closed cavity together with the sample chamber. The manufacturer has introduced a standard electrolyte solution containing the predetermined type of ions in predetermined activity into the closed cavity, which wets the measuring electrode 21 and the reference electrode 19 and thus preconditions them. For the actual analysis measurement, the closure part 45 is removed and the standard electrolyte solution is removed together with an absorbent, elastic pad 49 which is attached to the closure part 45 and is impregnated with the standard electrolyte solution. According to a second main aspect, the invention proposes an electrode arrangement using a copper-copper sulfate system, in particular for the reference electrode, which is characterized by a quick and stable potential setting with simple and inexpensive manufacture of the disposable part.
