Abstract

Abstract Color photographic silver halide light-sensitive material contains, in a silver halide emulsion or intermediate layer, a cyan coupler of general formula (I): where R, is H, halogen, or C1-20 alkyl or alkoxy, R 2 is C1-20 alkyl, R 3 is H, halogen or alkyl, X is a coupling releasable group (e.g. H or Cl) andn = 1 or 2; preferably in amount of 0.01 to 5 x 10 -1 mole/mole Hg. 14 specific couplers are shown, and a synthesis is described. They can be easily dissolved in an organic solvent and the solution dispersed in the hydropholic colloid for coating. The couplers exhibit a high dye-forming rate is developers, and provide color images of high fastness.
