Abstract

Ultrasonic transducer with a supporting body (2), a transmission layer (4) made of a material with a relatively high dielectric constant and a first λ / 4 adaptation layer (8) facing the transmission layer (4) and a second λ / 4 adaptation layer, facing the load. According to the invention, the second λ / 4 adaptation layer is simultaneously provided as a receiving layer (6) and the first λ / 4 adaptation layer is also provided as a hard backing for the receiving layer (6). An ultrasonic transducer is thus obtained, the transmission layer (4) of which is adapted to a load with low reflection and the reception layer (6) of which is exceptionally sensitive.
