Claim 1
Independent Claim 69 words
In a joint cement composition which comprises limestone, mica, at least one clay, and a latex binder as its principal ingredients, the improvement which comprises the addition of from about 0.2% to about 2.0%, by weight based on the dry ingredients, of hydroxypropyl hydroxyethyl cellulose having a hydroxyethyl substitution from about 0.7 to about 4.0 M.S. and a hydroxypropyl substitution greater than 0.36 M.S. as a water retention aid.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 69 words
In a joint cement composition which comprises limestone, mica, at least one clay, and a latex binder as its principal ingredients, the improvement which comprises the addition of from about 0.2% to about 2.0%, by weight based on the dry ingredients, of hydroxypropyl hydroxyethyl cellulose having a hydroxyethyl substitution from about 0.7 to about 4.0 M.S. and a hydroxypropyl substitution greater than 0.36 M.S. as a water retention aid.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 18 words
The composition of claim 1 wherein the hydroxypropyl hydroxyethyl cellulose has a hydroxypropyl substitution greater than 0.6 M.S.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 30 words
