Memory correction unit

Abstract

Abstract A method and a device are proposed for storing the memory content of defective memory locations. If it is recognised that a memory location is defective, the data and the original address are restored in an intact memory location under a substitute address. With an event repeating in the system, the original addresses are transferred to a memory correction unit and compared with the addresses called up from the central processor. If an agreement occurs, instead of the original address, the substitute address is called up. <IMAGE>
