Abstract

Abstract A tridimentional electrostatic accelerometer comprising a cube-shaped test weight (10), on each of the six faces of said cube a pair of conductina electrodes a hollow cage accomodating said test weight and twelve electrodes on said cage, forming with the test weight electrodes three sets of four capacitors C ij where i varies from 1 to 4 and j is x, y or z respectively. Means are provided for measuring for each value of j the sums and differences of capacities and for deriving from these quantities voltages for positioning the test weight (10) which are applied selectively to the electrodes of the set of capacitors C ij .
