Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 70 words
A device for protecting a wound comprising a pad of skin-protective and skin-curative adhesive material to which is secured a foldable sheet of liquid-impermeable material of larger area than the pad, marginal areas of said sheet being provided with a sealing means, and said sheet being located and dimensioned so that said sheet when folded over on itself is sealed in liquid-tight fashion around its edges to define a compartment.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 70 words
A device for protecting a wound comprising a pad of skin-protective and skin-curative adhesive material to which is secured a foldable sheet of liquid-impermeable material of larger area than the pad, marginal areas of said sheet being provided with a sealing means, and said sheet being located and dimensioned so that said sheet when folded over on itself is sealed in liquid-tight fashion around its edges to define a compartment.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 41 words
A device according to Claim 1 in which an aperture is cut through said pad and the portion of said sheet that is secured to said pad and said aperture is dimensioned to be slightly larger than the wound being treated.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 30 words
A device according to Claim 2 in which the sealing means whereby the edges or marginal portions of the foldable sheet are secured together is an adhesive or bonding substance.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 43 words
A device according to Claim 3 in which the sealing means whereby the edges or marginal portions of the foldable sheet are secured together is a pressure-sensitive adhesive such that the marginal portions once sealed together can be manually pulled apart if desired.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 48 words
A device according to Claim 4 in which the marginal portion of one half of said foldable sheet has secured thereto an adhesive strip having adhesive on both of its surfaces, and the exposed surface of said adhesive strip has its adhesive covered by a removable protective strip.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 26 words
A device according to Claim 2 including a drain tube connected to said compartment so that it is in communication with the interior of said compartment.
Claim 8
Independent Claim 55 words
A device for protecting a wound comprising a pad of skin-protective and skin-curative adhesive material which is secured to a sheet of liquid-impermeable material which constitutes one wall of a compartment, the said compartment being defined by the said wall and a container which makes a peripheral seal with the edge region of said wall.
Claim 9
Independent Claim 55 words
A device for protecting a wound comprising a pad of skin-protective and skin-curative adhesive material which is secured to a sheet of liquid-impermeable material which constitutes one wall of a compartment, the said compartment being defined by the said wall and a container which makes a peripheral seal with the edge region of said wall.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 36 words
A device according to Claim 7 in which said pad is apertured, and said container is then sealed to the marginal region of said sheet to define the said compartment for receiving discharge from the wound.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 33 words
A device according to Claim 8 in which said compartment is shaped so that in its usual position when being worn by a patient, any discharge runs under gravity to a lower region.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 40 words
A device according to Claim 8 in which said sheet is formed to define a marginal groove that extends completely around the periphery of said sheet and said marginal groove is dimensioned to snugly receive the edge of said container.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 16 words
A device according to Claim 8 in which a drain tube is connected to said container.
