Abstract
Abstract Pyridyloxaryl benzoyl ureas and a process for their preparation are provided. The ureas are useful as the active toxicant in insecticidal compositions and have the general formula: wherein: Y represent oxygen or sulfur. Z represents oxygen, sulfur, sulfinyl or sulfonyl; R 1 , R 2 are independently hydrogen, halogen, methyl, trifluoromethyl, or lower alkyl; R 3 , R 4 , R 5 are independently hydrogen, halogen, trifluoromethyl or methyl; R 6 represents hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl, cyano, or nitro; R 7 represents hydrogen, halogen, or lower alkyl; R 8 represents lower alkyl, cyano nitro, hydrogen or halogen; Rg is hydrogen, haligen, or lower alkyl, provided that when R 7 and R 9 are hydrogen and R 6 is hydrogen, halogen or nitro, R 8 may not be hydrogen, halogen or nitro.
