Independent Claim
241 words
(1) A recording tape cartridge which comprises a bottom section, a top section assembled with the bottom section to form a case body, one or more tape reels accommodated in the case body with a recording tape wound therearound, each of the tape reels having at least one flange with its peripheral edge formed engaging teeth, an opening defined on the bottom section for allowing entrance of a tape reel releasing member provided on a tape recording apparatus and tape reel braking means for preventing rotation of the tape reel when the recording tape cartridge is not used, said tape reel braking means comprising a pair of guide walls projectingly formed at both sides of the opening on the bottom section so as to oppose each other with a space, a stopper member having at least one braking member for engagement with any one of the teeth of the tape reel and being guided by the guide walls so as to move between a first position where said braking member can be engaged with at least one of the engaging teeth of the tape reel for preventing rotation of the tape reel and a second position where said braking member is disengaged from the teeth to allow rotation of the tape reel, means for resiliently biassing said stopper member toward the first position and engaging means for preventing disengagement of the stopper member from the guide walls in an upward direction.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
214 words
(2) The recording tÞpe cartridge according to claim 1, wherein said stopper member is formed by a sliding member slidably accommodated in the space between the guide walls having two leg portions and a top portion connected with both leg portions to form a generally U character shape, a rib projected from the top face of the sliding member, a pair of horizontal plates projected horizontally from the intermediate portion of the rib and a pair of braking members projected from one surface of one leg portion of the sliding member, said guide walls being provided with hook like members projected from the top ends of the walls toward the space whereby the stopper member is arranged in such a manner that the sliding member is accommodated in the space between the guide walls with the rib and the horizontal plates situated above the top face of the guide walls and the braking members directed toward the tape reels, and both free end portions of the horizontal plates being slidably supported on top faces of a pair of support walls formed outside the guide walls so that the stopper member is suspended by the horizontal plates and the support walls and the disengagement of the stopper member is prevented by the hook like members.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
60 words
(3) The recording tape cartridge according to claim 1, wherein said engaging means is formed by a plate member bridged across the two-top ends of the guide walls and the stopper member has a generally U character shape and slidably accommodated in the space between the guide walls whereby disengagement of the stopper member is prevented by the plate member.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
53 words
(4) The recording tape cartridge according to claim 1, wherein said engaging means is a pair ot hook like members projected from each of the guide walls toward the space and the stopper member is accommodated in the space so that disengagement of the stopper member is prevented by the hook like members.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
131 words
(5) The recording tape cartridge according to claim 1, wherein the engaging means is a pair of hook like -members formed on a pair of walls projected from the bottom section outside the guide walls and the stopper member is formed by a channel like member having a pair of flanged portions projected outwardly trom the bottom portions of the channel like member, whereby the the stopper member is so engaged with the guide walls that the channel like member slidably covers outside of the guide walls with each of the flanged portions of the channel like member titled in the space defined by the bottom.section and one of the hook like members so that the stopper member is prevented from disengagement from the guide walls by the hook like member.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
105 words
(6) The recording tape cartridge according to claim 1, wherein the guide walls are projected on both sides of the opening with a distance therebetween being larger than the distance between the both side edges of the opening, having a pair of hook like members on top portion of each of the guide walls and the stopper member is accommodated between the guide walls with the bottom face of the stopper member slidably supported on the peripheral edge porions of the bottom section defining the opening whereby the disengagement of the stopper member can be prevented by the hook like portion of the guide walls.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
35 words
(7) The recording tape cartridge according to claim 1, wherein said engaging means comprise slot means and and projection means slidably engaging with the slot means formed on the guide walls and the stopper member.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
