Abstract

Abstract Water-based curable epoxy resin compositions comprising (A) a diglycidyl ether of a bisphenol A type resin and (B) a reactive polyamidopolyamine can avoid problems resulting from the use of solvents and emulsifiers if the diglycidyl ether (A) has been partially reacted (preferably to an extent from 5 to 50%) with a polyoxyalkylene polyamine having a molecular weight from 900 to 5000. Preferred polyoxyalkylene polyamines have the formulae: wherein y is 1-5, and z is 1-50, or wherein r is 16-20 and s is 1-5.
