Abstract

Abstract 57 A silver halide color photographic material having improved whiteness and a method of processing said material are disclosed. The material is formed on a hydrophobic support at least one silver halide emulsion layer, a layer containing a brightening agent and a layer containing a compound that is capable of trapping the brightening agent, said layer containing a compound capable of trapping the brightening agent being separate from the layer containing the brightening agent and positioned more remote from the support than the latter layer, and also, the method for providing enhanced brightening effect comprises subjecting said material to imagewise exposure and color development so that said brightening agent is diffused into and trapped by the layer containing capable of trapping the brightening agent.

A silver halide color photographic material having formed on a hydrophobic support at least one silver halide emulsion layer, a layer containing a brightening agent and a layer containing a compound that is capable of trapping the brightening agent, said layer containing a compound capable of trapping the brightening agent being separate from the layer containing the brightening agent and positioned more remote from the support than the latter layer.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 70 words
A silver halide color photographic material having formed on a hydrophobic support at least one silver halide emulsion layer, a layer containing a brightening agent and a layer containing a compound that is capable of trapping the brightening agent, said layer containing a compound capable of trapping the brightening agent being separate from the layer containing the brightening agent and positioned more remote from the support than the latter layer.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 88 words
A silver halide color photographic material according to Claim 1 which further includes one or more layers containing a UV absorber, the layer containing the brightening agent being positioned closer to the support than the UV absorber containing layer(s) which is (are) the most remote from the support, the compound capable of trapping the brightening agent being incorporated in the UV absorber containing layer the most remote from the support and/or a layer which is more remote from the support than said most remote UV absorber containing layer.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 26 words
A silver halide color photographic material according to Claim 1 or 2 wherein said brightening agent is selected from a diaminostilbene, benzidine, imidazole or imidazolone compound.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 28 words
A silver halide color photographic material according to any one of Claims 1 to 3 wherein said compound capable of trapping the brightening agent is a hydrophilic polymer.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 24 words
A silver halide color photographic material according to Claim 4, wherein said hydrophilic polymer is polyvinylpyrrolidone or polymer having vinylpyrrolidone as a repeating unit.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 26 words
