Abstract

Abstract A channel-selecting device used for a television or the like selects a prescribed channel at a prescribed time according to a program stored in advance in a memory. No specific operation is necessary for storing the program in a memory (D), a channel selection state can be written as a program from channel control means (B) into the memory (D) based on a channel-selecting operation of instructing means (C) actually performed over, for example, one week during use in real time as means for storing the program in the memory (D).

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 245 words
A programable channel selecting system equipped with a tuner for selecting the channel to receive, channel control means for producing the control signals to be imposed on the aforementioned tuner to control the channel selection, commanding means actually operated by the user for manually switching the channel as selected by the aforementioned tuner at the time to do so and for entering into the aforementioned channel control means the channel data which represent the channels to select, memories for storing the program data for automatically switching the channel as selected by the tuner above-mentioned in accordance with the program, address switching means for specifying write/read addresses in the aforementioned memories which are switched at definite time intervals as well as making the address designations in a certain period of cycle, writing means for writing into and storing as the aforementioned program data in the addresses specified at the switching times in the aforementioned memories the channel data which ahve been entered by the aforementioned commanding means at the times of manual swithcing above-mentioned and which represent the channels selected by the aforementioned tuner, and reading means for reading out from the aforementioned memories the aforementioned program data at the read times which are set at definite time intervals and, then, entering the channel data into the aforementioned channel controlling means in accordance with that program data, thereby automatically switching the channel as selected by the tuner above-mentioned on the basis of the aforementioned program data.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 245 words

Claim 3
Dependent Claim 72 words
A programable channel selecting system according to Claim 1, wherein the aforementioned writing means is adapted to write the data of the channel which has been selected last during the specified period after the time when the channel to select is switched but before the next switching time into the address in the aforementioned memory from which the data is to be read out by the aforementioned reading means during that period.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 58 words
A programable channel selecting system according to Claim 1, wherein the aforementioned writing means is adpated to write the channel data into the memories only at the addresses where the same channel data have been entered over n cycles (n is an integer of 2 or more) of address designation above-mentioned made by the aforementioned address switching means.
