Abstract

A rig for a sail board (3) comprises a mast (5) and a spar (13) for holding and adjusting the sail (11). For this purpose, the spar is preferably provided with an outwardly curved fork arrangement between which the sail (11) is guided, the unbalanced rig (1) attached to the sail board (3) being freely rotatable and pivotable on all sides via a joint. The sail (11) is held with its luff on the mast (5) and is connected to the spar (13) over the end facing away from the mast (5). In order to enable significantly better wind utilization and thus to achieve a significantly higher speed with a given wind strength, the mast (5) is fork-shaped with two mast sections (9) diverging towards the upper leech (23), the sail (11) being in the shape of a Has double sail, and the two upper sail sections (11b; 11c) are held with their luff on the associated fork-shaped mast section (7,9). The mast (5) and the luff of the sail (11) are thus Y-shaped, the sail (11) also having two upper luff and only one lower luff (FIG. 1).
