Abstract

The workpieces (14) are transported through the treatment room (2) in the powder spray booth (1) and coated from the spray opening (19) by means of an electrostatic powder spray gun (18). A suction fan (5) sucks the air entering through the spray opening (19) through a cyclone unit (3) with a series of cyclone separators (23) and a filter unit (4) with a filter (31). While the air moves more strongly upward along the flow lines (38) to the suction channel (27), the powder mostly falls off along the trajectories (39). Only a part enters the cyclone separator (23) and is temporarily drained there by lock closures (40). The portion of powder not excreted there is deposited in the filter chamber (32), in part after the filter (31) has been cleaned. This portion can be directed to the screening machine (65) of the powder trolley (8) by opening the outlet flap (63) and thereby brought together with the powder of the cyclone separator (23) or can be directed into a room (9) by opening the outlet flap (58), in which a second powder truck can be accommodated. The integration of cyclone units in cabin units simplifies the overall structure, as does the cleaning time when changing colors.
