Optical imaging system for a seeker

Abstract

Abstract The optical imaging system comprises an optical field scanning device (4, 5) mounted on a dial frame fixed to the gyroscope of the missile and a detection system consisting of a linear detector array (6) arranged outside the gyroscope, stationary in relation to the structure of the missile and coupled to one end (12) of a flexible bundle (11) of optical fibres, of which the other end (13) arranged in the focal plane of the optical scanning device is fixed to this device. Coupling between the detectors and the optical fibres is carried out either directly or by means of an image transport device (10). The invention is used for detection and location of targets. <IMAGE>
