Abstract
Abstract In a hydraulic valve with flow feedback there is provided a position sensor (13) to sense the position of the flow-controlling valve member and provide a position feedback signal. The flow and position feedback signals are compared and a switching circuit (143) selects whichever of the signals indicates the larger flow.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim
53 words
A valve arrangement with flow feedback, characterised in that it includes means (13) to sense the position of a flow-controlling valve member (101), and means (143) to substitute a position feedback derived therefrom for the flow feedback if the flow feedback (12) indicates less than a predetermined minimum flow for a given valve opening.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
17 words
A valve arrangement according to claim 1, characterised in that it comprises a pilot-operated hydraulic spool valve.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
24 words
A valve arrangement according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the flow feedback and position feedback are effected by electrical feedback signals.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
62 words
A valve arrangement according to claim 3, characterised in that the flow feedback signal and the position feedback signal are each summed (141; 142) with an electrical flow demand signal, the two summed signals being applied to a compare and select device (143), whereby one or other of the summed signals is selected as a final demand signal for the valve arrangement.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
35 words
A valve according to claim 4, characterised in that the flow feedback signal and the position feedback signal are each passed through a variable gain device (146; 147) before being summed with the demand signal.
