Magnetic bearing for a rotor in a tight enclosure
Abstract
Each active radial bearing (4, 5) comprises a stator composed of windings of electromagnets (42, 52) associated with a yoke (41, 51) which has end pole pieces arranged at a short distance from the annular armature (43, 53) mounted on the rotor, the electromagnet windings (42, 52) all being arranged outside the sealed enclosure. Each stator yoke (41, 51) of laminated material is extended at the end pole pieces by an end portion (44, 44 '; 54, 54') of non-laminated magnetic material, of small thickness, which constitutes directly a portion of the wall (1) of the sealed enclosure and is connected by welding to the non-magnetic sealed wall portions which are not located opposite the annular reinforcement (43, 53).
