Abstract
Abstract A cylinder head gasket has outwardly open grooves formed in the compressible refractory body around the fluid passages to be sealed and sealing strips received in the grooves so that webs of the strips lying along the bottoms of the grooves are set back from the faces of the gasket while wings of the strips overhang these faces adjoining the grooves.
