1-Diorganocarbamoyl-polyalkyl piperidines and their preparation

Abstract Translated from German Verbindungen, die eine Gruppe der Formel I enthalten, worin R H oder C 1 -C 4 -Alkyl ist, R 1 H, CN, eine Acyloxygruppe oder eine freie Valenz bedeutet und R 2 und R 3 organische Reste sind, lassen sich in einfacher Weise aus den entsprechenden Verbindungen der Formel la durch stufenweise Umsetzung mit Phosgen und einem sekundären Amin R 2 -NH-R 3 in Gegenwart von molaren Mengen einer Base herstellen. Die N-Diorganocarbamoylverbindungen mit der Gruppe I sind hervorragende Lichtschutzmittel, insbesondere für organische Polymere. Sie lassen sich durch Folgereaktionen umwandeln in andere Verbindungen mit der Gruppe I, die durch direkte Phosgenierung nicht zugänglich sind. Viele der so durch Phosgenierung oder Umwandlung erhältlichen Produkte sind neue Verbindungen. Compounds which contain a group of the formula I wherein RH or C 1 -C 4 alkyl, R 1 is H, CN, an acyloxy group or a free valence and R 2 and R 3 are organic radicals can be easily obtained from the corresponding compounds of formula la by stepwise reaction with phosgene and a secondary amine R 2 -NH-R 3 in the presence of molar amounts of a base. The Group I N-diorganocarbamoyl compounds are excellent light stabilizers, especially for organic polymers. They can be converted by subsequent reactions into other compounds with group I which are not accessible by direct phosgenation. Many of the products so available through phosgenation or conversion are new compounds.
