Abstract
Abstract In the case of diesel-electrically driven vehicles, the invention prevents the diesel engine (1) from assuming too high a speed in the starting range. For this purpose, a setpoint transmitter (12a) is proposed which outputs speed setpoints (n<D*>) for the diesel engine in dependence on the value of the reference variable (W1) and the vehicle speed (v). The setpoint transmitter (12a) takes into consideration that the power requirement of the vehicle is low during starting and therefore only inputs a low nominal speed for the diesel engine even with high values of the reference variable (W1). <IMAGE>
