Abstract

Abstract Disclosed are a method and a device for stopping a vehicle at a predetermined position in which the distance between actual and target positions of the vehicle and the velocity and acceleration of the vehicle are detected so as to perform brake control by selecting brake control notches on the basis of the detected values of the distance, the velocity and the acceleration to thereby stop the vehicle at the predetermined position, are featured in that the stop gap accuracy in the case where the notch presently on actuation is maintained as well as the stop gap accuracy are obtained as fuzzy values and compared with each other to thereby perform the notch selection.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 143 words
A method of stopping a vehicle at a predetermined position comprising: a first step of detecting a velocity and an acceleration of the vehicle which is in its running state; a second step of detecting a distance between a current location of the vehicle and a target position of the same; a third step of obtaining, as a fuzzy value, first stop gap accuracy when a notch in the vehicle is maintained at its current state and second stop gap accuracy when the notch is changed by a predetermined value on the basis of the velocity and acceleration and the distance obtained in the first and second steps respectively and comparing both the first and second stop gap accuracy with each other to thereby performing notch selection; and a fourth step of performing brake control with the notch selected in the third step.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 78 words
A method of stopping a vehicle at a predetermined position according to Claim 1, in which the third step comprises a fifth step of obtaining scalar values of said first and second stop gap accuracy, a sixth step of obtaining membership function representing support of fuzzy set on the basis of the scalar values obtained in the fifth step, and a seventh step of selecting a notch which makes maximum the membership function obtained in the sixth step.
Claim 4
Independent Claim 162 words
A device for stopping a vehicle at a predetermined position comprising: a first means (1, 2') for-detecting a velocity (V T ) and an acceleration (a T ) of the vehicle which is in its running state; a second means (4, 5, 3') for detecting a distance (L 1 ) between a current location of the vehicle and a target position of the same; a third means (12P, 12Z, 12N, 14) for obtaining, as a fuzzy value, first stop gap accuracy when a notch in the vehicle is maintained at its current state and second stop gap accuracy when the notch is changed by a predetermined value on the basis of the velocity and acceleration and the distance obtained in the first and second means respectively and for comparing both the first and second stop gap accuracy with each other to thereby performing notch selection; and a fourth means (15) for performing brake control with the notch selected in the third means.
Claim 5
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 23 words
A device for stopping a vehicle at a predetermined position according to Claim 3, in which said first means comprises a tachometer generator.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 52 words
A device for stopping a vehicle at a predetermined position according to Claim 4, in which said second means comprises a point signal detector (5) for detecting a position marker (4) and means (3') for detecting said distance on the basis of outputs of said tachometer generator and said point signal detector.
